As the largest employer of teaching graduates in Australia, the NSW Department of Education is committed to supporting and developing the next generation of teachers.
Through the establishment of the Early Career Academy for Teachers, the department will work in collaboration with key stakeholders across the education landscape to support individuals as they commence their degree, select a career in NSW public schools and succeed in the classroom as beginning and early career teachers.
Aligned with the NSW Government’s $20m Innovative Teacher Training Fund, the Early Career Academy for Teachers will focus on making a teaching degree the first preference for more students, as well as ensuring a strong supply of classroom-ready teachers into NSW public schools in high-need locations and specialist subject areas, improving outcomes for students and communities across NSW.
If you are a high-school student, university student, industry professional considering a career as a teacher, or a newly qualified teacher, view the plan and subscribe to be notified about how the Early Career Academy for Teachers can support your teaching career in NSW public schools.
