I-spy with 3D objects

On a long car journey, at the local park or even at the supermarket.play a game of I-spy that involves everyone looking around for different 3D objects. For example, you might say “I spy with my little eye, something that is a cone”.

Things you need

  • 2+ players
  • Long car ride (optional).

The challenge

Step 1

To begin, one person sees (or spies) a 3D object, such as a cylinder, cube, cone, prism or sphere, and keeps it a secret. The object must be something that all other players had the opportunity to see.

Step 2

When you have spotted your object say "I spy with my little eye, something that is a cone”.

The conversation

The other players in the car now have to try and guess what the 3D object is that you’re seeing. The correct guesser gets to ‘spy’ something next. To support players, the person setting the challenge can provide hints as needed.

Road safety tips:

As they are playing the game, remind children of the following:

  • Always buckle up safely and stay buckled up
  • Be a safe passenger by talking quietly and not distracting the driver
  • When we leave the car always get out on the footpath side.
