Wattle Grove Public School
Roslyn Stevens a teacher from Wattle Grove Public School attended two of our professional learning workshops; Supporting Walk Safely to School Day and Road safety education: Safer behaviours through PDHPE K-6. These workshops helped her to plan meaningful and relevant road safety teaching and learning activities supporting the PDHPE K-6 syllabus outcomes.
Roslyn?s year one class explored the online resource Safety Town and decided to showcase their road safety knowledge and understanding through a school assembly item. Her class learnt the Stop, Look, Listen, Think song to reinforce the messages about being a safe pedestrian in a fun and creative way. These activities were reinforced by a whole school approach to road safety education by sharing the key pedestrian messages on their school?s digital notice board prior to Walk Safely to School Day.
