With the HSC all done and dusted for another year, Year 12 students from EPPP pilot schools probably have a bit of time on their hands. What better way to use that time than to test out an industry or get a taster of a future course, and gain some valuable skills along the way, with some free skills training over summer?

The Summer Skills program has been designed specifically with school leavers in mind. The program allows students to explore their interests and gain valuable skills that they’ll be able to take with them, wherever they end up.

“We are not training for the sake of training, we are training for real jobs with real futures and equipping the people of NSW with the skills they need to thrive in a post-pandemic economy,” said Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, Geoff Lee, at the program’s launch.

There are over 20 courses on offer across industries such as Agribusiness, Business, Creative experiences, Construction and Health. If you know a student that would like to explore Horticulture, Mental Health or anything in between, be sure to let them know about the program, and do it quick.

There are limited places available, so students are encouraged to enrol ASAP.

There will be courses offered at a various locations including Bankstown, Liverpool and Wetherill Park and regional locations such as Grafton and Ballina.
