Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms) – Certificate III
Apprentices will learn the skills and knowledge at trade-level for those working in furniture making and those involved in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context.

Apprentices will learn the skills and knowledge at trade-level for those working in furniture making and those involved in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context. Installation skills may be applied to new or renovation work.
There are two pathways offered within the Certificate III in Cabinet Making targeting the skill requirements of free-standing furniture makers and kitchen and bathroom cabinet makers and installers.
Outcome on completion of your HSC
- Statement of Competencies Achieved for Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms) MSF31113 from MSF Furnishing Training Package.
- A career path in the Furnishing industry.
- Continuation in the Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms) apprenticeship full time post school.
Course delivery
- Will be delivered both on the job and off the job.
- Two years part time during school, followed by three years full time post-school in both on and off the job training.
Commitment required
- Undertake a minimum of 100 days in paid employment and training.
- Undertake Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms), and complete Stage 1 of this qualification by the end of your HSC.
- The employment and training can be undertaken during school time, after school and during school holidays.
How will you be assessed?
- Both on the job and off the job through written tests, project work and practical exercises.
