Have you just left school or are about to? Services Australia has a whole range of payments and services available to help you with your life after school.
A range of payments and services are available if you:
- plan to do further study
- start an apprenticeship
- are looking for work.

The main payments are:
- Youth Allowance for students and apprentices
- ABSTUDY for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Simply create a myGov account, get your Medicare card and use the Payment and Service Finder to see what payments you’re entitled to.
Apply for a payment early
If you want to apply for a payment it’s a good idea to do it early. You can apply up to 13 weeks before your uni or TAFE course starts. Find out more about what you can do in advance.
