Local Decision Making
Local Decision Making (LDM) is an initiative of OCHRE, the NSW Government’s community focused plan for Aboriginal affairs, which represents a fundamental and positive change in the relationship between government and Aboriginal communities in NSW.
Through LDM, the NSW Government and regional Aboriginal governance bodies (Aboriginal regional alliances) enter into agreements (Accords) committing parties to jointly address agreed priorities, including timeframes, responsibilities and measures of success.
NSW currently has three Accords:
- Murdi Paaki Accord
- Three Rivers Local Decision Making Accord
- Illawarra Wingecarribee Accord
and eight Regional Alliances:
- Murdi Paaki Assembly (Far Western NSW)
- Illawarra Wingecarribee Aboriginal Corporation (Illawarra / Wingecarribee)*
- Regional Aboriginal Development Alliance (North Coast)
- Barang Regional Alliance (Central Coast)*
- Three Rivers Regional Assembly (Central West)*
- Northern Region Aboriginal Alliance (New England North West)*
- Tribal Wave Assembly (Lower North Coast)
- Riverina-Murray Regional Alliance
*Training Services is part of the negotiating party for this Regional Alliance.
