Teach and Learn Scholarship (Specialist Teaching Areas)

To be eligible to apply for a Teach and Learn Scholarship (Specialist Teaching Areas), an applicant must:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• have a current permanent teaching approval with the NSW Department of Education
• be recommended for a permanent teacher librarian, careers adviser or English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teaching position (minimum 0.6 FTE) in a NSW public school following merit selection and be currently undertaking, or planning to enrol in the next semester, in an approved postgraduate qualification in teacher librarianship, career education, EAL/D or TESOL
• be willing to enter into a Scholarship Agreement, a legally binding agreement that outlines the responsibilities of both the scholarship recipient and the department
• be willing to complete the required studies within the agreed time frame specified as part of their conditions of permanent employment
• be willing to remain in their current permanent teaching position (minimum 0.6 FTE) following completion of studies for a minimum period of 3 years.
