Transition to high school safely
Starting high school can mean many exciting changes for students, like becoming an independent traveller.
It can also mean lots of new decision-making, problem-solving and learning new procedures to travel safely to and from a new school.
To assist students transition safely to high school, discussions and support are needed in both Year 6 and Year 7.
It is important to provide opportunities to discuss and highlight:
- new modes of transport
- new routes to be travelled
- plan B suggestions
- potential hazards and problem solve different scenarios that may occur along the way.
