Who can apply to become a Small Group Tuition educator?
There are 5 main types of educators that schools may engage with through the Small Group Tuition program (SGT) funding:
- Teachers
- Educational paraprofessionals
- Educators (non-teacher)
- School learning support officers (SLSOs)
- Allied Health Providers (speech therapists and occupational therapists only)
Creating a ClassCover profile
ClassCover is a third-party booking platform that allows schools to see who is available for casual teaching along with small group tuition work in their school. Schools can search the database and communicate with educators regarding opportunities available in their school.
For interested applicants, please visit the ClassCover website and follow the instructions to set up a profile. If any difficulties arise, please contact their customer support.
Creating a profile is encouraged and will enable schools to see applicants availability and contact them with SGT opportunities.
Once registration has taken place and a profile has been created, applicants will be notified by email. Applicants will then be able to search for jobs and let schools know if they are available to support the Small Group Tuition program as an educator.
If applicants already have a ClassCover profile, they should state their interest in participating in the program in their bio.
How to apply
Schools will advertise positions either through ClassCover or on their school's website. To apply for an advertised position, applicants will need to provide:
- A NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment from the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian (or previous application number if WWCC application is still being processed)
- A completed Declaration for Child-Related Work
- A completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal Informed Consent form
- four identity documents (as specified on page 2 of the Informed Consent form)
- A current CV that clearly and concisely articulates relevant skills, knowledge and experience (maximum four pages)
- Contact details of two professional referees
Studying a Bachelor or Masters in Education?
People studying a Bachelor or Masters in Education from a provider from the accredited teaching degrees list are eligible to become part of the Small Group Tuition program.
Please complete the steps above for creating a ClassCover profile and applying to positions identified for pre-service teachers.
