Individual Student Growth
The Individual Student Growth report displays the progress of individual students in NAPLAN across their educational journey from Year 3 through to Year 9 NAPLAN.
How will this report benefit me?
This report allows analysis of student performance on NAPLAN across their educational lifespan of the test. This allows teaching staff to identify students’ trajectory and identify students who require additional support to meet the expected trajectory.
What does the Individual Student Growth report provide?
This one page report presents information on:
Individual Student Growth
- This Gap Analysis chart shows the growth in a student’s score between NAPLAN assessments.
- The dark circle represents the starting score, and the white circle represents the ending score, i.e. the score in the next NAPLAN assessment.
- The growth between each pair of assessments – N3 to N5, N5 to N7, N7 to N9 – is represented by each horizontal teal line on the chart.
Use the slicers to filter the data for further analysis:
- Cohort Enrolment Year –you must select a value in this slicer for the data to be meaningful
- Cohort Scholastic Year – you must select a value in this slicer for the data to be meaningful
- Student Name
- Domain –select a single value in this slicer, e.g. Numeracy, to view the growth of that student’s score between one NAPLAN assessment and the next. Select two different values together, e.g. Numeracy and Reading, to view the difference in scores between the two domains for a single assessment. This can help pinpoint students who may be doing very well in some domains but struggling in others.
- Gender
- Aboriginal - The term Aboriginal used in this data set refers to and includes both Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In NSW the preferred term is Aboriginal, rather than Indigenous or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- EAL/D
