The Visual Arts Learning Hub contains specialised spaces equipped for the teaching and learning of Art subjects. The integrated design enables ease of flow between larger shared workshop and smaller art general learning spaces. The shared workshop maximises potential access to specialist arts teachers and the use of multiple arts resources.
The Visual Arts General Learning Space is an adaptable learning space that accommodates a teacher’s desk and sufficient student desks and chairs to enable a class group to be seated. Storage for arts resources and an independent learning area is also provided.
The Visual Arts Workshop is a learning space accommodating sufficient student stools and bench height tables to enable a class group to be seated. An art trough bench is provided and hanging lines are used for the drying and display of artwork. Pottery wheels can be included.
The Visual Arts Store Room is dedicated to the storage of Visual Arts resources and bulk materials. A compactus unit, racks and shelving are provided.
The Visual Arts Project Store Room is dedicated to the storage of student Visual Arts projects. Shelving and an open storage area are provided.
The Kiln Space is a small well ventilated space designed to accommodate a kiln unit dedicated to the firing of Ceramics and Pottery products. This room is predominantly for teacher use or students under supervision.
The Pottery Store Room is dedicated to the storage of pottery materials and projects. This room is predominantly for teacher use or students under supervision.
The Darkroom is a special purpose room used for film processing and development of traditional photographic prints. A darkroom trough, light trap, wet and dry areas, hanging lines and bench areas with safe lights are provided. There is space for the future installation of a dryer and enlargers.
