The Food & Textiles Technology Unit contains specialised spaces equipped for the teaching and learning of Textiles, Food Technology and Hospitality subjects.
The Food Technology General Learning Space with Demonstration Bench is an adaptable learning space that accommodates a teacher’s desk and sufficient student desks and chairs to enable a class group to be seated. Workbenches along two walls and a Demonstration Bench with wet area and overhead mirror are provided.
The Shared Domestic Kitchen is a large special purpose learning space for the practical teaching and learning of food technology and/or textile and living skills. Workbenches, kitchen facilities including stoves, sinks, a dishwasher and a servery window to the Preparation Room are provided. An adjustable movable height table and fixed adjustable sink are also provided.
The Semi Commercial Kitchen is a hands-on learning space for the preparation and cooking of food. This room has work benches and is also equipped with cooking equipment and washing up facilities.
This room is a small, multipurpose learning room with desks and chairs for individual to medium sized groups.
The Kitchen- Preparation Room is dedicated to the preparation of food and storage of materials to be used in the Kitchen. A Servery area is provided
The Pantry - Semi-Commercial is dedicated to the dry storage of food products.
The Laundry is a support space with fixtures & equipment to support the cleaning of clothes and linen. The space should be equipped with a laundry tub, washing machine and dryer.
Outdoor Learning Commons may be desirable as an alternate, quieter recreation space and/or Bistro area.
