How to get ready for the Digital Hub

The new early childhood education and care (ECEC) Digital Hub will provide all NSW ECEC services with a user-friendly, secure, centralised place for simpler data submission, access to funding and grants, and reporting. Over time it will replace the Early Childhood Contract Management System (ECCMS).

NSW community and mobile preschools will be onboarded to the Digital Hub in phases and contacted directly with plenty of notice before they need to access the Digital Hub.

Get ready

NSW community and mobile preschools can start preparing for the Digital Hub to ensure a smooth transfer of data from the child care management system (CCMS) to the Digital Hub. Services should:

  • get to know the Digital Hub and timelines
  • ensure key data has been captured in their digital CCMS or other suitable ECEC-specific system as outlined in the ECEC Digital Hub data guide (PDF 162 KB). This includes:
    • child information
    • enrolment details
    • attendance information
    • service information
    • fee details
    • consent to collect and share information with the department.

Services using a paper-based enrolment and attendance tracking system are encouraged to adopt a CCMS or ECEC-specific solution.

Services already using a CCMS will need review the system to ensure it meets the right specifications and is being used to capture the required data. There are guides to help you:

  • The How to select software guide (PDF 218 KB) has been created to help services choose the right software and hardware. Please refer to the essential selection criteria to know what to look for.
  • The ECEC Digital Hub data guide (PDF 162 KB) outlines the data types and fields required by the department. It also explains how data will be transferred from a service’s CCMS to the Digital Hub each week. Services should use this guide in conversations with CCMS or ECEC-specific providers to make sure they're capturing all the required information in the right way.

Services without a CCMS, or using one that is not yet integrated with the Digital Hub, will still be able to access the system but data will not be transferred into the Digital Hub.
