Evidence of learning

Educators use a range of data and evidence of learning to monitor student learning progress to inform professional decisions on instruction and reporting.

Consistent teacher judgement

Provides guidance to strengthen practices around consistency of teacher judgement. Teachers use these practices, through professional dialogue, to gauge how student work samples relate to syllabus standards.

For more information, visit Consistent teacher judgement.

Forming an on-balance judgement

Shows how teachers can use evidence across assessment modes to form a holistic on-balance judgement of what a student knows, understands, and can do at a point in time. This judgement comes from classroom observations, student work samples, as well as other more formal assessment information and is continually refined when more information is available.
