Onsite interpreting

Information about accessing onsite interpreters through local providers.

Onsite interpreting arrangements from Term 4, 2023

Schools can access onsite interpreters through the listed providers or can access local providers if required. Please check the information on how to book with each of the listed providers. Depending on the length of the interpreting assignment, schools may need to get prior funding approval. Also note approval must be sought for bookings which include a travel charge. Please direct your enquiry to the Interpreting and Translations Advisor at interpreting@det.nsw.edu.au

Assignments of 3 hours or less

If onsite interpreting assignments are 3 hours or less and meet the interpreting guidelines, schools should book their interpreting assignments directly with their chosen service provider and do not need to get prior approval.

Assignments of over 3 hours

For assignments of more than three hours, schools must obtain prior approval for funding.
