About this report
Information
Data Source: Check-in assessment
Updated: Daily (during assessment window)
Designed for

Benefits
How can I use this report?
This report allows schools to analyse cohort performance in each item of the Check-in assessment by syllabus outcomes, and learning progressions. The report compares cohort scores against the school in the first instance and will compare against SSSG (statistically similar school group) and the State once all schools have completed their assessments, and the results have been statistically analysed. Please note that the SSSG may contain different schools from those that would be present in a statewide assessment as the Check-in is an opt-in assessment and does not include all schools in NSW.
More information can be found on the Check-in assessment webpage.
What should I look for?
The report provides cohort performance by individual items and includes item-level details. It allows you to identify cohort strengths and areas for growth as well as students who may need support in specific areas. The learning progression indicators can assist you in identifying skills the cohort was able to demonstrate during the assessment. Schools can use this report to compare students in the school that have completed the assessments to SSSG and state following analysis of the results from all participating schools.
Note: This report extends beyond the initial page view and its entire length can be viewed by scrolling in your browser window.

Summary
This section of the report will provide a quick snapshot of cohort performance compared to statistically similar schools and the State DoE for participating schools in each domain.
Scaled scores are based on a weighted average of items in each domain and compared against the school, SSSG, and State.
The number of students who participated in the assessment, the average time taken and the maximum possible score in the selected domain are displayed on the right-hand side of the Summary.
The bar chart shows the percentage of questions answered correctly grouped by area of learning based on learning progressions.
Performance by Syllabus and Syllabus Outcome
This bar chart provides the overview of cohort performance by Syllabus and Syllabus Outcome in each domain for the selected scholastic year:
Cohort % Correct by Question
This section provides 100% column bar chart to display cohort percent of questions (items) correct (and incorrect) for each item in each domain for the selected scholastic year:
Question Details
This table displays all questions in the assessment and the cohort’s % correct response to each question (item) along with item level details, including links to suggested teaching strategies, syllabus outcome, literacy or numeracy learning progression level and indicator description for each domain of the selected scholastic year.
Note: Images of specific questions are available for Semester 2 2023 and 2024 assessments. Some images are not available as they support statistical processes to maintain the reliability of the assessment.
Feedback
This table displays a description of the responses and feedback on the responses for the item selected for each domain for the selected scholastic year:
Student Item Map
This table displays the selected students besides their response (and whether or not it was correct) for all items in the assessment. This not only provides information about which items students answered correctly but also allows for other analysis, such as identifying common incorrect responses. The total number of correct responses is shown on the far right side of the table. Clicking on the three dots, ellipsis, which appears above the Total when you hover there, allows you to sort the students by total correct in ascending or descending order.
