Sexuality and sexual health education is taught from Kindergarten to Year 10 in an age-appropriate way as part of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) K-10 Syllabus (2018).

Senior students in NSW government schools extend their learning about sexuality and sexual health as part of the mandatory 25-hour Life Ready course.

Consent education

The teaching of consent in all NSW public schools is mandatory. Consent is a concept embedded in sexuality and sexual health education.

Teaching sexuality and sexual health education
