HSIE sample scope and sequences
How schools can organise a K-6 HSIE – history and geography scope and sequence and the elements that could be included.
Introduction
The sample scope and sequence documents incorporate advice from NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and includes the following elements:
- the scope of learning in relation to the syllabus outcomes to be addressed
- the sequence of learning in relation to the syllabus outcomes to be addressed
- duration of the learning
- syllabus outcomes addressed through the learning
Each document is a ‘sample’ that schools may adapt to meet the needs of their students and local context.
A semester-based scope and sequence for Early Stage 1 to Stage 3.
Approach 1: Early Stage 1 - Stage 3 semester based with overview
