The Class report shows the spread of student achievement across domains for a selected class or group of students.
Select the School, Assessment and Assessment year.
Optional slicers allow you to analyse the performance of different equity groups and/or selected subsets of students. These slicers include Aboriginality, EAL/D, Gender, SEA quarter (Socio-Economic Advantage), Enrolment type group and Enrolment type, NCCD adjustment and NCCD category.
To locate a timetabled class, select a Specific group type and Specific group.
The values selected in the slicers will be shown as text below the slicers.
The chart to the right shows the distribution of scaled scores against the proficiency levels for each domain. Each dot represents one student.
Hover over a dot in the plot to see the name of the student. Clicking on the dot will show the same student across all domains. Use the slicers to reduce the number of students included in the analysis if overlapping dots make it difficult to hover and view each student’s name.
'View proficiency descriptions' opens a page with the proficiency descriptions for the selected assessment.
The Student list displays the group of students selected in the slicers. Use the Proficiency level dropdown to select which proficiency level of results is counted in the '# domains' column. This counts the number of domains for which the student’s result was in the selected proficiency level.
Select a student from the table to see their scaled score in each domain in the chart next to it. You can see their performance relative to the overall student group.
Click the report icon to the left of the student’s name to open the Student summary for that student.
When opening this report from Student Summary, the slicers will not show selections but the pre-selected values will be shown as text below the slicers. A warning will appear confirming that the report has been populated using pre-selected values. Select 'Reset all slicers' to clear the preselection and select a new class or student group.

The Class report shows the distribution of students’ scaled scores across domains and proficiency levels for NAPLAN 3, 5, 7 or 9. It also allows you to select an individual student to see their achievement relative to other students in the selected group.
When triangulated with other data, this information may assist in identifying the success of current teaching strategies. It may also help to identify opportunities to support student learning in one or more specific domains.
