In this 2-week unit students are provided opportunities to:

  • solve problems involving duration, using 12- and 24-hour time
  • investigate angles on a straight line, angles at a point and the relationships formed by the intersection of straight lines
  • dissect two-dimensional shapes and rearrange them using translations, reflections and rotations.

Geometric measure A – MAO-WM-01, MA3-GM-03

  • Angles: Estimate, measure and compare angles using degrees
  • Angles: Use a protractor to measure and identify types of angles

Geometric measure B – MAO-WM-01, MA3-GM-03

  • Angles: Investigate angles on a straight line and angles at a point
  • Angles: Investigate the relationships formed by the intersection of straight lines

Two-dimensional spatial structure B – MAO-WM-01, MA3-2DS-01

2D shapes: Dissect two-dimensional shapes and rearrange them using translations, reflections and rotations

Non-spatial measure B – MAO-WM-01, MA3-NSM-02

Time: Solve problems involving duration, using 12- and 24-hour time
